Grounding Around

A couple weeks ago we were talking about grounding and a great question came up: what about for kiddos with severe allergies to grass? 


First, what is grounding and why is it helpful? Grounding (aka earthing) is connecting with the Earth’s natural energy, and it reduces inflammation and stress, improves sleep, and enhances your mood and energy levels.


If grass, pollens, and other outside factors are a concern, rocks and sticks are still wonderfully soothing for the nervous system. If you need to take an extra step to wash off pollen, grab a hose and make it a wet rock party - that will be even more fun! Just know you’re probably going to have to give your kids a bath afterwards, unless you hose them off too! 


Other ways you can ground are on sand, or to use a device that uses an electrical system to connect to the earth (they have mats and blankets that do this). Whichever way you ground, it’s a wonderful and easy way to help your body, so kick off your shoes and get out there!
